My job is to make your words and stories as sharp as they can be. I offer a wide range of services from a full manuscript edit, to sensitivity reads, to comp title research in the MG, YA, and select adult audience bracket.
I look out for content, grammar, structure, character and plot development, consistency, and any other concerns you raise to me upon our first conversation.

My name is Megan Manzano and I currently work dual roles as a marketing manager for Trade books and a Literary Agent at D4EO. I previously mentored for the Pitch Wars class of 2018 and am currently mentoring for the RevPit 2020 contest.
I've spent several years learning the ropes about editing and what can help make a manuscript shine. I have experience with authors in all stages of their career, whether they're querying, preparing to self-publish, or just don't know the next steps for their story. When I'm not editing, I'm hiking, snuggling my dog, and crying over a good book.
“After spending months or years working on your precious book baby it’s daunting to finally let someone read it. Megan was the very first person to read through my entire manuscript and I am so thankful for that. Her comments were insightful, helpful, and encouraging. Megan pointed out which elements needed more development and when my metaphors ran amok, but she was just as quick to highlight the aspects of the story that were working well. I truly enjoyed working with her and I’ve been singing her praises to my writer friends ever since. Not only did she help me with this story, but I learned a lot from her feedback that I can apply to future projects too. I couldn’t have asked for a better critique experience!”

“I was fortunate enough to recently win a first chapter critique from Megan. Her feedback was encouraging, specific, and helpful! Even though I have revised my chapter multiple times, she found ways to further improve it without changing my voice or style as a writer. I appreciated how she not only made suggestions, but also pointed out what worked well. If you are looking for an editor who is timely, thorough, and kind, look no further!”
